Japanese Tea Gardens

Japanese Tea Gardens are public gardens that J. Evetts Haley created. They are open year-round and are located in his hometown, Spring, Texas. The gardens were named after Mr. and Mrs. Eisuke Iwasa, who donated the first known specimen of tea plants to America in 1912.

The Japanese Tea Gardens display various plant varieties and show a range of structural styles when it comes to pavilions, bridges, and footbridges.

These works of art can be found around the grounds or inside one of the four historic structures on-site, including the Yi Fushou Temple, Old House Museum, Fairbanks House, or Forest House Museum.

There is also an exhibit area that showcases the development of Mr. Haley's life in Texas with personal items, historical documents and photographs that detail seventeen decades of progress from pioneering days to modern times.

The gardens are open year-round except during severe weather conditions. You will want to check the website for hours of operation and admission prices reduced to $10 per person since the gardens are a privately run non-profit organization.

The Japanese Tea Gardens are located at 12345 Hawkes Drive, Spring, Texas 77379 and can be found by going to their website listed below.
